Writing makes writing better

If you are trying to find ways to improve upon your writing skills, the best way to do this is to write. Writing is a skill that has to be developed, like a muscle. Your writing muscle needs to be exercised in order to become stronger and more effective. Just as a muscle in the body will atrophy if it is not used, your writing skills will wither if you stop for too long.

Make time in your daily schedule to write. Even if you only write for one hour a day, or even just half an hour per day, you will begin to see improvement in your writing skills. At times, it will be difficult to write, but don’t let that discourage you. It takes focus and energy, just as any type of exercise does. No matter how much you love to write, there will be times when you may not feel like writing. Go ahead and write anyway. Before long, you may even impress yourself with your own compositions.

The more you write, the better you will become. Start now, and keep at it.

  1. I noticed that this is not the first time at all that you mention this topic. Why have you decided to write about it again?

  2. Hi, thanks for your comment. I wanted to point out that there will be times when you won’t feel like writing, and that we should press through those times in order to grow. What I wanted to emphasize with this post is that it isn’t always going to flow, and no matter how much you love writing, you are not going to feel like doing it sometimes. It will be those times when real development takes place.
